Platinum Plating

Platinum belongs to the same group of platinum metals with rhodium, ruthenium, palladium, iridium and osmium. Platinum is a harder metal than silver. A platinum coating will not oxidize in contact with air and is highly resistant to corrosion. Up to 20% of all consumer objects in the world include platinum or have been manufactured by using platinum. Platinum plating is an excellent choice when durability in extreme climate conditions is required.

Eforit Oy is the leading platinum plater in Finland. We create platinum plating for the technology industry and research institutes.

Features of platinum plating:

  • Hardness 400 HV
  • Coating thickness 0.1-2μm
  • Applications: Catalytic plating, scientific instruments, titanium anode coating
  • Typical plating thicknesses range between 0.5 µm and 5 µm
