Silver Plating

 

Of all metals, silver has the best conductivity for electricity and heat. For this reason, silver plating is particularly suitable for components that require better (than that of, e.g. copper) corrosion resistance, strength and solderability in addition to electrical and thermal conductivity.

 

Silver plating spreads effortlessly, ensuring an even coating on both convex and concave surfaces. Silver plating is also a good choice when good reflectivity or a pleasing appearance is required. A rhodium plating can prevent or delay the tendency of silver to tarnish.

We offer the following silver plating methods:

Electrolytic silver plating

  • Hardness 100-120 HV
  • Typical layer thickness 2-10μm
  • Maximum layer thickness 25 μm

Chemical silver plating

  • Suitable for glass silvering
