X-Ray surface thickness measurement
We offer our customers reliable X-Ray plating thickness measurements of our work. The measurement is based on the ratio of the radiation back-reflected from atoms excited by X-rays to the mass of the surface material over a given surface area.
The gauge can measure the thicknesses of three different superposed coatings in a single measurement, as each material and material combination has a characteristic radiation produced in the release of excitation caused by X-rays. The measurement method complies with the SFS-EN ISO 3497 standard.
Pricing
Plating is always a multi-stage process, and pricing is affected by many factors, such as:
- Base material of the piece
- Size and geometry of the piece
- Desired coating thickness (in micrometres)
- Coating materials / interlayers
- Number of pieces
Our minimum price is 200 euros.

Electrolytic plating
Electrolytic, or electrochemical, surface treatment refers to the coating of objects with metals. In this process, the object to be coated is immersed in an electrolytic bath in a basin. An electric current is used to precipitate metal ions onto the surface of the object.
Chemical surface treatment
In this coating method, metal ions are precipitated onto the pieces through a chemical reaction, which means that no electric current is needed. The advantages of this method
include the uniform thickness of the coating and good penetration. Eforit Oy offers medium-phosphorus chemical nickel coating.
Selective coating
An electrochemical coating method used in cases where, for example, only a specific part of a piece is to be coated.
Brush plating
Brush plating is well-suited for pieces which cannot be removed from equipment, in locations such as power plants and nuclear power plants where Eforit has been involved in refurbishment work.
Responsibility
Sustainable development
High-quality and durable products are essential for saving limited natural resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing and reducing waste. Corrosion causes billions in annual costs globally, but properly selected coatings significantly extend the life of products. With our surface treatment expertise, we help our customers choose the best coating for every needs.
